Muscle bath

Basic Research System I: Muscle Bath

The muscle bath is a simple cost effective system in the muscle research field that combines the versatility of the KG transducer series (resolution from 0.4 µN and forces from 50 µN up to forces of 2N), different mounting devices with a temperature controlled bath and integrated heater/amplifier for mechanical measurements on intact muscle.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Small footprint economical system for the study of intact muscle preparations.
  • Complete turnkey system with data recording & analysis/evaluation of data available
  • Controlled heating 30-42C is standard. Optional cooling to 5C.
  • Expandable with a stimulator & tetanizer for intact muscle stimulation

KEY EXPERIMENTS / MUSCLE Parameters:

1)      Measure intact muscle responses to electrical stimulation or tetanus. Measure myomechanical properties of contracting and relaxing muscle strips. background information

2)      Twitch amplitude and kinetics analysis, time to peak, (50%) relaxation velocities, starling curve, diastolic force development with Software Muscledata..

You can use your own data acquisition system and software or use our integrated package (DAS/MuscleData) that records and analyzes all muscle data.
